Just hack

I apologize, but I'm going to quote all of John Lim's most recent post because I think it's so cool:

First learn computer science and all the theory. Next develop a programming style. Then forget all that and just hack. -- George Carrette

Reminds me of the time the Malaysian government sent a software team to Canada to do technology transfer for a flight simulator system. After spending 2 years in Canada, they returned, and i asked one of the team members how the Canadian coders designed this powerful and complex system. I was expecting some detailed software methodology involving multiple phases. He told me, "they just hire a bunch of talented programmers, teach them the physics, and tell them to hack!"

Call it unilateral again and I'll slap you

Japan Decision to Send Troops to Iraq 'Historic' Myers Says

Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi announced the decision in December. This is the first time Japanese forces will serve as part of a coalition not sponsored by the United Nations. The soldiers will be engaged in helping to rebuild Iraq, and will be based in the southern part of the country. They will work with Dutch soldiers, and will come under the command of a British general.

Debate Dodgers

This is AWESOME. Evolution’s Debate Dodgers

Many evolutionists make a habit of claiming that evolution is ‘science’ and creation is ‘religion.’ This simplistic slogan is apparently meant to justify their refusal to put their own beliefs and presuppositions on the line. Apparently, their beliefs won’t stoop to the same rigorous analysis they demand for any idea that threatens the crumbling walls of evolutionary dogma with such scientific concepts as sound logic, empirical data, and objective analysis.

To put a finer point on the matter, a challenge has gone out from Dr. Joseph Mastropaolo,[1] suggesting that an evolutionist individual or organization put his/their money where his/their mouth is, and show up for a debate...

They have a growing list of evolutionists who refuse to debate. Though, I wouldn't put $10,000 of my own money up, and I wouldn't expect anyone else to. So, the terms of the debate seem geared against making people want to debate. So I'm really not sure whether it's cool, or silly.
