Salon.com: Mozilla's revenge. "As the much-touted, long-delayed open-source browser nears the version 1.0 finish line, it may give AOL a new weapon against Microsoft." Here's my post from yesterday about this.
Check out Dia. If I ever need to do a real ER diagram (like for a client or something), I'll probably turn to this.
Oops, it's not available for Windows. Well, I'll turn to it once either Mandrake 8.2 (uh oh, they're running out of money in the short term. Can I pre-order 8.2?) comes out or Gentoo Linux 1 comes out.
Cool, Paul has a link to my programming page, and on that page he has a link to a C reference I didn't know about. I've now added it to my programming page
Whew, I just heard on a commercial for the news that Andrea Yates was found guilty. It would have been insane if she was exonerated. The trial actually seemed quick. I didn't expect it to be over this soon.
The jury only deliberated for four hours.
I'm disgusted by what I just heard from the defending lawyers. Paraphrasing: "we're back in the salem which witch trials".
I liked the way Sean Hannity said it today. "Yeah, Satan made her do it."
I can't wait to see Blade 2. Looks like a fun ride.
Finally! The first awesome episode of Buffy in a while!
Hey, great beginning of Smallville too!!
Awesome episode of Smallville! What a good night of TV.
If you haven't already noticed, I added a "recent comments" section down to the right. The goal is to have it show all recent entries (those whose parent post still shows on the main page), grouped by post, showing the most recent entry for each post. Problem right now is that I can't figure out how to get the most recent entry for each post before it groups by the entry, so it's showing the first comment for each entry.
Curses! I think it's impossible to do what I want to do without using sub-selects. I've been poring over my SQL book tonight, and I haven't found a solution. I'll have to write procedural code to do it.
Hey, at least PHP allowed me to write functional-style code, thanks to in_array() and array_push().
If anyone has noticed weird stuff with my site over the past 15 mins or so, I know about it. I'm too lazy to make a "staging area" for my site, so I usually just program live on the server. Well, I do have a staging area for large changes, but the ones I'm making are relatively minor.
I just called Rutgers - what I thought was the main number (353-1711). When I called I got this nice sounding woman who answered "Theater department". So I said "I'm sorry, what's the main Rutgers number?". So she shouted "Hey, does anyone know the main Rutgers number", and I heard a cacophony of laughter in the background!
So I laughed and said that I didn't realize she was in the middle of a class, and she said "yeah, we're right in the middle of one". The lady was really nice all along, but then a mean sounding man came and hung up the phone.
Funny story... there's my embarrassment for the day.
A Picture of Weblogs, a neat Java applet that shows the interconnections between weblogs.
An awesome article from Newsday.com about Sarah Hughes' parade this past Sunday. It's so funny. They have video highlights and some pictures. Check out their slideshow. The best is this picture. I still wish I hadn't missed it on the news.
