The best is this statement in the article, from a Taliban prisoner: "The United States should help us. How can the world ignore us?" pleaded Maqsoud Khan, 26, who is among about 1,100 Pakistani prisoners in Shibergan."

Ok, I'm trying to come up with a simple parser for a simple markup language, sort of like this, but with more features, including lists, but maybe not as complicated as some Wikis.

The two main goals are simplicity and "not-get-in-the-way-ness". I want the parser to be simple and fast, and most of all I want to make sure that the markup language doesn't get in the way of what you want to say. Hopefully it'll produce valid HTML too

I should really look at how phpwiki does its formatting.
